ShareCare was founded to overcome the problems that so often force seniors to leave their homes prematurely. This unique, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization was created to offer Leelanau County residents comprehensive, affordable assisted living services in each member's own home. Ultimately, ShareCare is neighbors helping neighbors’ to promote independent living for as long as possible.

Specific Services:
  • In home assessments and professional care management by an RN
  • 24 hour access to medical consultation
  • Member volunteers provide transportation, minor home repairs, companionship, lawn care, and meal deliveries
  • Durable medical equipment available for loan, ie: wheelchairs, walkers, commodes, etc.
  • Access to a list of independent contractors, ranging from caregivers to electricians.

Munson Home Health offers a complete range of services including skilled care, infusion, and private services. Hospice and home medical equipment are available in Leelanau County.

Leelanau Memorial Health Center
Leelanau Memorial Health Center is located in the village of Northport offers a broad range of acute care and general nursing services and includes the David H. Warm Memorial Pool and Fitness Center, an attached Care Center for extended care, and a walk-in clinic for after-hours treatment. Clinics for specialized care are also held at the facility and out-reach clinics are available in Suttons Bay and Lake Leelanau.

Grand Traverse County Commission on Aging
The Commission on Aging provides services that help senior citizens remain living in their own homes for as long as possible. Services enhance the quality of life and offer greater safety to those we serve. Services also assist family members and friends in caring for an older adult.
