Suttons Bay is the largest village in Leelanau County. Located on the eastern side, Suttons Bay is just 15 minutes from Traverse City. The village still retains a small town feel, but features 2 full service grocery stores, numerous shops and a fine harbor. The Bahle Natural Area is a great place to walk or to ski and sled in the winter and the Leelanau Trail follows the old rail bed all the way from Suttons Bay to Traverse City. Churches include First Evangelical Lutheran, the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Keswick United Methodist, the Suttons Bay Congregational Church, St. Micheal and St. Wenceslaus.

Peshawbestown is home to the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, about midway between Suttons Bay and Omena. Every August, the band holds a traditional Pow Wow. Peshawbestown has experienced tremendous growth in recent years due to the Leelanau Sands Casino. In town is the Immaculate Conception Church.
